Welcome to DeenNotes. Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the DeenNotes mobile application ("App") operated by DeenNotes ("we," "us," or "our").

By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

1. Description of Service

DeenNotes is a mobile application designed to help Muslims:

Track daily prayers
Journal personal reflections
Receive prayer time notifications
Find Qibla direction
Access AI-powered Islamic spiritual guidance

2. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the App, you confirm that you:

Are at least 13 years of age
Have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms
Will use the App in accordance with these Terms

3. User Accounts and Data

DeenNotes stores your data locally on your device. You are responsible for:

Maintaining the security of your device
Backing up your data regularly
Any activity that occurs through your use of the App

Data Loss Warning:

Uninstalling the App or resetting your device will permanently delete all your journal entries and prayer history. We cannot recover lost data.

4. Premium Subscription

DeenNotes offers a premium subscription ("DeenNotes Premium") with additional features:

Unlimited AI guidance conversations
Additional home screen and lock screen widgets
PDF export for journal entries
Additional premium features as added

Subscription Terms

Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase
Subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period
You can manage and cancel your subscription in your device's account settings
No refunds will be provided for any unused portion of a subscription period

5. AI Guidance Feature

The AI guidance feature provides Islamic spiritual insights and is subject to the following terms:

The AI guidance feature is for informational and inspirational purposes only. It is not a substitute for professional religious scholarship, counseling, or advice from qualified Islamic scholars. Always consult with qualified scholars for religious rulings (fatwas) and important religious matters.

AI responses are generated by artificial intelligence and may not always be accurate
We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of AI-generated content
Free users receive a limited number of AI conversations per month
You agree not to use the AI feature for any unlawful or harmful purposes

6. Prayer Times and Qibla

Prayer times and Qibla direction are calculated using your device's location and established Islamic calculation methods. While we strive for accuracy:

We do not guarantee 100% accuracy of prayer times or Qibla direction
You are responsible for verifying prayer times with local mosques or reliable sources
Accuracy depends on your device's GPS and compass functionality

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the App for any unlawful purpose
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App or its systems
Interfere with or disrupt the App's functionality
Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
Use the App to transmit harmful or offensive content
Misuse the AI feature for purposes contrary to Islamic values

8. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, features, and content, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes.

Your journal entries and personal content remain your property.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY
FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE
NON-INFRINGEMENT
ACCURACY OR RELIABILITY OF CONTENT

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

Loss of data or content
Loss of profits or revenue
Personal injury or property damage
Any damages arising from your use of or inability to use the App

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless DeenNotes and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

12. Modifications to the App and Terms

We reserve the right to:

Modify or discontinue the App at any time
Update these Terms at any time
Change subscription pricing with reasonable notice

Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

13. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users or us.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Ohio, United States of America, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

16. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the use of the App.
